There are many ways to get involved at Heritage Glen, and contribute to the strength and vitality of our school community.
Volunteer Your Time
All of council’s programs and events rely heavily on the talents and energies of committed volunteers. Currently, volunteers help staff the school library, plan special events, research grants and fundraising opportunities, deliver pizza, provide input into council decisions, and do so much more.
Parents can also volunteer to assist in their children’s classrooms or help supervise a school field trip.
All volunteers must have a Police Check with Vulnerable Sector Search on file at the office. More information …
This year, volunteers who have submitted their police check will also need to complete an offence declaration form.
Keep in mind that not all volunteering has to happen during school hours, or involve a huge time commitment – maybe you have time to prepare materials at home in the evenings, or run an errand for a special event. If you are interested, speak to a member of council and your child’s teacher about what might be helpful, or fill in this online Volunteer Form to tell us how you would like to use your talents.
Volunteering is a great way to stay involved, meet other parents and feel connected!
Volunteer Your Ideas
No time to volunteer? You can still help by volunteering your ideas.
Maybe you know of something that has worked at another school, or have a great idea for a new council initiative (arts enhancement, reading programs, school greening?) – let us know!
